Paul started the firm on 1 July, 1964 and his working life has been spent in the accounting profession. In July 1979 the firm was relocated from East Street to it’s current premises at 134 Victoria Parade, Rockhampton.

Paul has seen countless changes to the taxation legislation over his time in the profession.

Interests

Paul and his wife, Clare, have reared six children of whom five are Accountants (four of these are Chartered Accountants) and one is a Teacher.

When Paul is not working at the office he is managing his substantial grazing and farming interests.

Paul also manages substantial property and subdivisions interests.

Paul has been on many four wheel driving trips around and across Australia as well as toured many overseas countries.

Paul enjoys the challenge of developing projects to their full potential whether it is businesses, property or whatever he is involved in.


Michael G. Harris CA
Partner

Michael commenced with the firm in November 1983 as an accountant and became a Partner of the firm in July 1992.

The introduction of the Goods and Services Tax required considerable understanding of both computer systems and record keeping requirements. Michael was heavily involved in the development of systems to assist our clients with the implementation of the new tax system.

Interests

When Michael is not at the office he is spending time with his wife, Janelle and family. With five active children there is always numerous educational and sporting activities to attend. Holidays and many weekends are spent working on the family grazing property.

Michael has been a keen member of the local area’s Rural Fire Brigade for many years and currently serves on its Management Committee.

In November, 2002 Michael completed a four year appointment on the school board of the primary school that his children attend.

Michael has an interest in flying and holds a Student Pilot’s Licence.


Christopher T. Harris CA
Partner

In February 1998 Chris commenced with the firm as an accountant and became a Partner in July 2001.

In preparation of the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax Chris trained numerous clients and non-clients in GST compliant computer packages.

After attaining the qualification of Chartered Accountant in November 2000 Chris commenced studying for his Private Pilot’s Licence as well as undertaking courses in financial planning.

In June 2002 Chris became a Proper Authority Holder and began servicing clients of Harris Financial Planning Pty Ltd.

It was also in June 2002 that Chris attained his Private Pilot’s Licence. Chris’ Private Pilot Licence has given the firm the ability to travel longer distances in less time so that we can provide Chartered Accounting and Financial Planning services to our clients at their location on a more regular basis.

Chris is continuing his studies in financial planning and is also expanding his flying capabilities.

Interests

During Chris’ studies at University he undertook Officer Training with the Australian Army Reserve and upon completion of his University studies in December 1997 attended the Royal Military College, Duntroon to complete his Officer Training.

Chris graduated as a Second Lieutenant in the Australian Army Reserve on 14 February, 1998 from the Royal Military College, Duntroon and has since been promoted to Lieutenant. Due to Chris’ work and study commitments he has reduced his Australian Army Reserve activities.

Chris has travelled to many overseas countries.

Swimming, Squash and Touch Football keeps Chris active when he is away from the office.
